The stuff you do when you travel 500km and realize that the display
lock issue on HP EliteBooks needs a “quick fix”.

Update: can’t believe that I actually managed to fix it this time – had tried so in the past, but to no avail. And now bending that lock bar just worked out fine.

Most of these HP EliteBooks from 2008-2009 like my HP Elitebook 6930p have display lock issues where the lock just won’t work – display pops up on its own. The fix is to open it up (like I did) and bend a very fragile piece of metal into the desired direction.
